These seers had the ability to "see" into the human soul and destiny to a degree that transcended the limits of this earth plane. Powerful cosmic influences were an open book to them. They knew the laws of astronomy long before they were "discovered" in Europe. IMPORTANT: The Astrology that has been most used in the West is not the same -- their zodiac has lost its relation to the stellar energies it was originally associated with and has become a mere concept. In the Vedic system, the 12 signs and 27 "constellations" are reflections of powerful cosmic energies. There are also other unique features in this system, such as the Planetary Periods of one's life. I do enrich my readings with the ideas of Transpersonal Psychology and Transpersonal Astrology that were developed in the West. In case you don't know, newspaper "horoscopes", "my sign is such-and-such" and card reading are not astrology. (I have nothing against card reading -- I do some myself, but it just ain't the same thing.)
